The Camp Axe forging course is designed for anyone with minimal forging experience and an interest in making a hand forged camp axe. Topics: - Safety & equipment - function and design - Selection of steel - Forging, hammer technique - Heat treating - Grinding, polishing, finishing - Preparing the handle. Each student will gain a deeper understanding of forging techniques, heat treating, grinding and have a hands-on experience finishing their own axe with expert instruction.
Additional time will be added during regular open forge hours for fit & finish.
