In this one-evening class, students will have the opportunity to use different resist materials to create a unique look before glazing their pot or vase with a japanese raku glaze. Participants will witness their red hot pots being taken from the raku kiln. The pots and vases are then placed into the reduction chamber with combustibles, which we have previously prepared together. Once the magnificent artworks are cooled off, they will be ready to go home with you.
No prior experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be provided.
Please wear natural fiber clothing, closed toed shoes and long hair pulled back as we are working close to open flames during this class!
This is a BYOB Event! Hors d'oeuvres will be provided.
