This 5 session long Intermediate/Advanced youth blacksmith program is for the young aspiring blacksmith with previous forging experience ages 12-17. Students will rely and build on the skills they have learned in our beginner blacksmith program and complete more complex projects independently. They will refresh what they know about safety in a metal workshop, basic metallurgy, practice proper hammer-technique and recap what they learned about the fundamentals of blacksmithing and traditional forging techniques. With these and newly learned skills our students will taper, scroll, punch and twist hot metal at their will onto a whole new level. Prerequisite: Homeschool Semester Blacksmithing I. or Beginner Youth Day Camp!
Students will also learn to safely use a MIG welder and some other useful power tools that can greatly assist a modern blacksmith in completion of a project during this course.
