This 5 days long Intermediate/Advanced youth blacksmith program is for the young aspiring blacksmith with previous forging experience ages 12-17. Students will rely and build on the skills they have learned in our beginner Day Camp and complete more complex projects independently. They will refresh what they know about safety in a metal workshop, basic metallurgy, practice proper hammer-technique and recap what they learned about the fundamentals of blacksmithing and traditional forging techniques. With these and newly learned skills our students will taper, scroll, punch and twist hot metal at their will onto a whole new level. Prerequisite: Beginner youth Day Camp!
Students will also learn to safely use a MIG welder and some other useful power tools that can greatly assist a modern blacksmith in completion of a project during this course.
July 29 - August 2, Monday to Friday 9 AM - 12 PM
Hours in the program: 15
Cost: $499/student (Early Bird Registration Rate $449. Offer ends April 15)
Our workshops and day-camp groups have always been intentionally small! Our new policy reduced the number of participants even lower which allows for more space and even more personal attention to each student!
