Intermediate Machining Workshop

Are you ready to take your machining skills to the next level? After catching the bug in our Introduction to Machining Workshop (Mandatory Prerequisite!), it’s time to step up your game! In this 5 hour intermediate course, we’ll reinforce and expand your knowledge of the lathe while introducing fundamental techniques using a mill.

Once you're comfortable with the basics, we'll "roll up our sleeves" and tackle an exciting project, taking you through the "nuts and bolts" of complex machining. You’ll learn to:

Mill a hexagonal shape.

Turn and create a bolt.

Bore and craft a nut.

Use the lathe to form outside threads on a bolt and tap the nut for inside threads.

This hands-on workshop is designed to deepen your understanding and broaden your machining skill set. Join us and master techniques that are as practical as they are rewarding!

Please wear a short sleeve shirt or tight fitting long sleeves. NO LOOSE CLOTHING OR JEWELRY!! Denim jeans or cotton pants are recommended as well as solid, closed toed shoes.
All tools, materials and personal protective equipment will be provided.
Mandatory prerequisite: Introduction to machining workshop.
