As part of our historical weaponry series, join us in recreating the knife , fighting utility that carried Marines through epic battles across the Pacific during WWII.
USMC Mark-II Combat knife , commonly known as the Ka-Bar.
During this class students will forge a hidden tang Bowie style knife with a guard peened butt cap and leather stacked handle.
This is an intermediate to advanced workshop!
Prerequisites are: Introduction to blacksmithing and Introduction to knife making
If you never forged steel before, start with the Introduction to Blacksmithing workshop now and the Introduction to knife making course before you attempt this course! It's for the seasoned smithies, but you can get there if you start now ! (If you have taken any blade-smithing classes with us in the past, you may qualify.Reach out to your instructor to find out.)
Additional time will be added for fit and finish during open studio hours (Tuesdays & Thursdays 6-9PM)
