March 7-8 Introduction to Knife Making


This 2-day course ( Saturday & Sunday - March 7 & 8 12PM - 5PM both days ) is designed for anyone with minimal forging experience and an interest in making hand forged high performance knife blades. Topics: - Safety & equipment - Blade function and design - Selection of steel - Forging, hammer technique - Heat treating - Grinding, polishing, finishing - Preparing the handle All students will gain a deeper understanding of blade-forging techniques, heat treating and grinding a high carbon steel blade and have hands-on experience finishing their own knife with expert instruction.
If you don't have prior forging experience, we strongly recommend taking Introduction to Blacksmithing first.

Saturday & Sunday 12 PM - 5 PM
Additional time will be added during regular open forge hours for fit & finish. Tuesday or Thursday 6-9 PM
