This 3-day course ( Friday,Saturday, Sunday. March 17-18-19) is designed for students with previous forging experience and an interest in making a hand forged bearded skandinavian style axe. Topics: - Safety & equipment - function and design - Selection of steel - Forging, hammer technique - Heat treating - Grinding, polishing, finishing - Preparing the handle. Each student will gain a deeper understanding of forging techniques, heat treating, grinding and have a hands-on experience finishing their own axe with expert instruction. Additional time will be added during regular open forge hours for fit & finish.
