The Viking Broadsword!
In this 6 days (26+ hrs) advanced blade-smithing course you will make your bespoke high performance blade Viking Warriors have prized above all other things! Be prepared for hard work!! It will not be child's play, but the results will be magnificent!
Students will hand-forge their own high carbon spring steel blade with hands on step by step instruction. Student will also have the opportunity to hand-carve the pommel and guard out of wax and utilize a traditional lost-wax casting method to pour their own pieces out of brass, solder them onto the blade and finish their pieces by grinding, polishing and antiquing as preferred. This course will also teach advanced grinding techniques, including the grinding of a fuller.
All tools, materials and hands on instruction to complete your blade and hardware will be provided.
Course Schedule : 2 weekends in a row. Additional time will be added during regular open forge hours for fit & finish.
