⚔️ The long-awaited European Longsword Course of 2025 is here! Sharpen your skills and your steel in this epic 6‑day, 26‑hour advanced bladesmithing adventure where you will forge your very own bespoke European Longsword — the prized weapon of Medieval Crusaders and a true symbol of craftsmanship and power. This is no casual stroll through the forge. Expect heat, hammer, and hard work, along with the thrill of watching raw steel transform under your hands into a weapon worthy of legend. The reward is a magnificent, battle‑ready blade that is entirely your own creation. 🔥 What You’ll Do • Hand‑forge your blade from 5160 spring steel, plus craft your own pommel and guard • Master advanced grinding techniques, including the art of grinding a fuller • Work step‑by‑step with expert instruction from start to finish • All tools, materials, and hands‑on instruction needed to complete your blade and hardware are provided 📅 Course Schedule Two weekends, with 11 days in between for your arms to recover and your excitement to build: • Fri, Dec 26, 2025 – 6 PM–9 PM • Sat, Dec 27 – 4 PM–9 PM • Sun, Dec 28 – 4 PM–9 PM • Fri, Jan 2, 2026 – 6 PM–9 PM • Sat, Jan 3 – 4 PM–9 PM • Sun, Jan 4 – 4 PM–9 PM Additional time for fit and finish will be available during open studio hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 PM to 9 PM. 💰 Tuition: $745 🛠️ Who Should Enroll This course is designed for seasoned smiths ready to take on a serious challenge. If you are new to the forge, start your journey with our Introduction to Blacksmithing Workshop, then follow with Introduction to Knife Making before attempting this course. Begin now, practice during Open Forge sessions, and you could be ready to join the ranks of swordsmiths by December. Cancellation Policy
These policies are a condensed version of our full Terms and Conditions, which can be found at: https://www.guildfl.com/policies All our programs, classes, workshops, courses, and camps are open to everyone; no membership required. Please review the published prerequisites before enrolling in intermediate and advanced offerings. Registration & Cancellations - All registrations are non-refundable. - Cancel ≥7 days in advance: receive full credit for a future program. - Cancel <7 days: receive 50% credit for a future program. - One-time rescheduling allowed if requested at least 72 hours before the start of your scheduled class - Further reschedules or cancellations = no credit. - If booking includes multiple students, you must share info for each one. Late cancellations impact us financially; please notify us promptly. Please contact us by phone or email to request changes. Missed Classes No refunds or make-ups for missed classes unrelated to Guild or faculty issues. No Prorating Tuition is not adjusted for late starts or missed days. Program Changes & Cancellations - We reserve the right to substitute instructors, adjust, or cancel programs - Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled based on availability. - If the Guild cancels a class, a full refund will be issued. - We notify participants of cancellations at least 48 hours in advance when the minimum participation isn’t met. Safety & Liability The Guild, Urban Craft and Folk Art School, and Dark Angel Armory & Forge are not liable for injuries. By registering, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for the associated risk with the class content. Participants may be photographed for promotional use. Contact the Director before your program starts to d privacy requests. Waivers All students (or guardians) must sign a waiver upon arrival, which includes: - Liability Release - Photo/Video Consent (The form is also available online.) Youth Programs Guidelines No supervision before 9:30 AM. No curbside drop-off/pick-up. An adult must sign in/out. Parents are required to attend a 15-minute safety briefing on the first day. Morning sessions end at 1:00 PM, and afternoon sessions end at 4:30 PM. Supervised lunch breaks are provided for both AM and PM enrollments. Bring your lunch and snacks. Fridge & microwave available. A sign-in/out sheet is provided daily. Please include your best contact number. For alternate pickups, please notify us in writing and list the information on the sign-in sheet.
