5‑Day Summer Welding I. Intensive-Day Camp (Introduction to Welding and Metal Fabrication) August 3–7, 2026 • Monday–Friday • 10 AM–1 PM Ages 12–17 • Tuition: $499 Give your teen a powerful, hands‑on introduction to welding and metal fabrication in this immersive week‑long summer program. Designed for beginners and returning students alike, this intensive program offers the same robust curriculum as our homeschool welding course condensed into five consecutive days for deeper focus, faster skill-building, and a true workshop immersion experience. Students learn essential shop safety, basic metallurgy, and the safe operation of professional metalworking equipment. Throughout the week, they gain practical experience using: Angle grinders Oxy‑acetylene torches Plasma cutters Belt grinders MIG welding equipment Additional fabrication tools and shop technology Each student completes multiple small welded projects while developing cutting, fitting, fabrication, and finishing skills. The consecutive‑day format allows students to build confidence quickly, reinforce techniques through daily practice, and see steady progress from day one to day five. No prior experience is required, just curiosity, focus, and a willingness to learn! Program Highlights Small class sizes for maximum safety and individualized instruction Real tools, real materials, and real fabrication techniques Daily hands‑on welding and metalworking practice A supportive, safety‑focused workshop environment Students take home the projects they create Safety Requirements Because we work with open flames and power tools, all students must wear long pants and a cotton t-shirt, non‑flammable clothing (no nylon or polyester), and closed‑toed shoes. 🔥Additionally, each student must bring a long-sleeve denim shirt or a lightweight welding jacket. All other safety gear will be provided. (This program is fully reimbursable by the StepUp for Students Scholarship program. Please let us know if your child participates and if you require a reimbursement packet. )

Cancellation Policy

Please review the published prerequisites before enrolling in intermediate and advanced offerings. Registration & Cancellations - All registrations are non-refundable. - Cancel ≥7 days in advance: receive full credit for a future program. - Cancel <7 days: receive 50% credit for a future program. - One-time rescheduling allowed if requested at least 72 hours before the start of your scheduled class - Further reschedules or cancellations = no credit. - If booking includes multiple students, you must share info for each one. Late cancellations impact us financially; please notify us promptly. Please contact us by phone or email to request changes. Missed Classes No refunds or make-ups for missed classes unrelated to Guild or faculty issues. No Prorating Tuition is not adjusted for late starts or missed days. Program Changes & Cancellations - We reserve the right to substitute instructors, adjust, or cancel programs - Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled based on availability. - If the Guild cancels a class, a full refund will be issued. - We notify participants of cancellations at least 48 hours in advance when the minimum participation isn’t met. Safety & Liability The Guild, Urban Craft and Folk Art School, and Dark Angel Armory & Forge are not liable for injuries. By registering, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for the associated risk with the class content. Participants may be photographed for promotional use. Contact the Director before your program starts to address privacy requests. All students (or guardians) must sign a waiver upon arrival, which includes: - Liability Release - Photo/Video Consent (The form is also available online.) Youth Programs Guidelines No supervision before 9:30 AM. No curbside drop-off/pick-up. An adult must sign in/out. Parents are required to attend a 15-minute safety briefing on the first day. Morning sessions end at 1:00 PM, and afternoon sessions end at 4:30 PM. Supervised lunch breaks are provided for both AM and PM enrollments. Bring your lunch and snacks. Fridge & microwave available. A sign-in/out sheet is provided daily. Please include your best contact number. For alternate pick-up, please notify us in writing and list the information on the sign-in sheet.
